 “Shimizuyu” is a traditional public bath located about a 15-minute walk from JR Kamakura Station. The admission fee is very affordable at ¥490 for adults, and it is a classic sento with a traditional bandai front desk that has been operating since 1955.

 One of the main features of this bathhouse is its simple structure, with just one large bath located in the center of the bathing area. It is the perfect place to enjoy a nostalgic old-fashioned Japanese bathhouse atmosphere. The impressive 10-meter-high ceiling and spacious bath are also major highlights.

 “Hibariyu” is a public bath located about a 3-minute walk from the East Exit of JR Ofuna Station. The admission fee is very affordable at ¥530 for adults. Since opening in December 1969, it has remained a beloved bathhouse in the Ofuna area for decades.

 One of the main features of this bathhouse is its wide variety of baths, including an artificial carbonated bath, ultrasonic bath, bubble bath, electric bath, and reclining bath. In addition, the men’s bath area also includes an open-air bath.

 A sauna is also available for an additional ¥350 fee. Since there is an open-air bath, visitors can also enjoy relaxing outdoor air bathing after using the sauna!

③ Kuritayu

 “Kuritayu” is a public bath located about a 10-minute walk from the Kasama Exit of JR Ofuna Station. The admission fee is very affordable at ¥530 for adults, and the bathhouse is especially popular because it uses alkaline underground water that is gentle on the skin.

 One of the main features of this bathhouse is its impressive large tile mural on the wall. Established in the 1950s, it is a nostalgic sento where visitors can fully enjoy the atmosphere of Japan’s Showa era. Bath varieties include an ultrasonic bath and bubble bath. There is also a coin laundry next to the bathhouse, making it very convenient.

 A sauna is also available, although it is currently closed.

④ Noda no Yu

 “Noda no Yu” is a public bath located about a 2-minute walk from Fujimicho Station on the Shonan Monorail Line. The admission fee is very affordable at ¥500 for adults, and it has been loved by locals for more than half a century.

 One of the main features of this bathhouse is its extremely hot bath. The 43°C hot bath is perfect for people who enjoy high-temperature baths. There are also several other bath types, including an electric bath, jet bath, and bubble bath, so everyone can enjoy the facilities regardless of their preferred water temperature.

 A sauna is also available for an additional ¥200 fee. Since there is also an open-air bath, visitors can enjoy relaxing outdoor air bathing after using the sauna!

Super Sento

① Inamuragasaki Onsen

 “Inamuragasaki Onsen” is a famous super sento located about a 3-minute walk from Enoden Inamuragasaki Station. It is especially well known for its extremely high concentration of bicarbonate ions and metasilicic acid.

 One of the main features of this hot spring facility is the breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji, Enoshima, and the ocean while relaxing in the large communal bath. There is also a café attached to the facility, allowing visitors to enjoy meals and drinks after bathing. The facility was renovated and reopened in September 2017, and the main bath is the only bath type available, designed to fully enjoy the magnificent scenery.

 The large communal bath also includes a sauna and cold bath, allowing visitors to fully relax and refresh themselves while enjoying one of the best views in Kamakura!
