In the Shonan area, the fireworks festival held in May is the 69th Zushi Coast Fireworks Festival!

The 69th Zushi Beach Fireworks Festival (Area: Zushi)

The “Zushi Beach Fireworks Festival” is a long-standing event that has colored early summer in Zushi, Kanagawa since 1958. Although it was suspended from 2020 to 2022 due to COVID-19 and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the festival resumed in 2023.

In 2026, it will be held on Thursday, May 21, from 7:20 PM to 8:15 PM. Approximately 7,000 fireworks will be launched, including large size 10 shells, making it one of the largest fireworks displays in Kanagawa Prefecture. Highlights include a dynamic fireworks show synchronized to music and a spectacular 15-minute grand finale!

①The 78th Kamakura Fireworks Festival (Area: Kamakura)

The Kamakura Fireworks Festival began in 1948 and will celebrate its 78th edition this year. Cherished for decades as a beloved summer tradition, the event had been canceled in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics. Although the event was temporarily suspended due to restrictions on the use of Shonan Port and other factors, it has been lighting up the summer night sky for three consecutive years since restarting two years ago!

This year’s event will be held on Friday, July 10, from 7:20 PM to 8:10 PM, with approximately 2,500 fireworks launched from Kamakura Beach (Yuigahama & Zaimokuza Beaches).

The highlight of the Kamakura Fireworks Festival is the underwater fireworks launched from boats moving across the sea. Spectators can enjoy both fan-shaped fireworks bursting across the ocean surface and beautifully rounded shells blooming in the night sky—an unforgettable experience! Don’t miss it!

②Hayama Coast HANABI 2026(Area: Hayama)

“Hayama Coast HANABI 2026” is a renewed version of the Hayama Coast Fireworks Festival, a large-scale fireworks event traditionally held every summer at Hayama Beach in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Each year, approximately 1,100 fireworks light up the beautiful night sky. However, due to factors such as a shortage of staff, it has once again become difficult to operate shuttle buses this year. As a result, the festival will temporarily suspend its usual large-scale format and instead be held in two separate sessions.

The fireworks themselves remain just as spectacular as ever. With a variety of shapes and colors—including circular bursts, chrysanthemum-style fireworks, and star-shaped designs—this year’s split-format event is sure to captivate spectators once again.

① [52st Annual] Southern Beach Chigasaki Fireworks Festival (Area: Chigasaki)

The Southern Beach Chigasaki Fireworks Festival is a beloved summer tradition in Chigasaki. Spectators can enjoy unique pyrotechnic displays such as the stunning “Starmine” sequences and the breathtaking “Underwater Peacock” fireworks that spread across the ocean’s surface.

This year, the event will take place on Saturday, August 1, starting at 7:30 PM at Southern Beach Chigasaki.

One of the most special aspects of this festival is the ability to watch fireworks while sitting on the sand and listening to the soothing sound of ocean waves. It’s a truly memorable way to enjoy the summer—don’t miss it!

② Miami Beach Show “Summer” Fireworks(Area: Fujisawa)

The “Miami Beach Show ‘Summer’ Fireworks” was previously held on just one day, but in recent years, the event has been split across multiple dates as a measure to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. It was held three times in 2022 and five times each year from 2023 to 2025.

By holding the fireworks on multiple dates, even if one of the scheduled displays is canceled, visitors still have another opportunity to enjoy the fireworks on a different day!

Each display features about 150 fireworks—smaller in scale compared to other festivals—but the entire show takes place in just three minutes, making it a short yet powerful and spectacular experience!

③ The 74rd Shonan Hiratsuka Fireworks Festival (Area: Hiratsuka)

The Shonan Hiratsuka Fireworks Festival is a beloved summer tradition that colors the Shonan coastline each year.

The event takes place at Shonan Shioiri (the mouth of the Sagami River) and can also be enjoyed from Hiratsuka Beach.
In addition, the impressive Trusco Shonan Bridge creates a dramatic backdrop, enhancing the grandeur of the fireworks display.

The festival is scheduled for: Friday, August 28, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (If canceled due to severe weather, it will be postponed to Sunday, August 30.)

Approximately 3,000 fireworks will be launched.

Set against the Shonan sea and the iconic bridge, spectators can enjoy musical fireworks, spectacular starmine displays, and even rare large-shell fireworks—making this a must-see summer event packed with highlights.

In the Shonan area, the fireworks festival held in October is Fujisawa Enoshima Fireworks Festival!

Fujisawa Enoshima Fireworks Festival

The Fujisawa Enoshima Fireworks Festival is one of Shonan’s signature autumn traditions, with fireworks launched from Katase Nishihama Beach against the iconic backdrop of Enoshima Island.

Known for its impressive variety, past editions have even featured rare 20-inch shells, the largest fireworks in Shonan.

The breathtaking sight of fireworks glittering over the ocean creates a romantic and unforgettable autumn evening.
