The Kamakura Fireworks Festival began in 1948 and will celebrate its 77th edition in the upcoming event. Loved for generations as a summer tradition, it had been canceled in recent years due to the spread of COVID-19 and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Restrictions on the use of Shonan Port also forced a temporary halt, but since last year it has once again illuminated the summer night sky for two consecutive years.
The festival will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 19:20 to 20:10, featuring approximately 2,500 fireworks. The venue is Kamakura Coast (Yuigahama Beach & Zaimokuza Beach).
A unique highlight of the Kamakura Fireworks Festival is the underwater fireworks launched from moving boats toward the sea. The “Miami Beach Show ‘Summer’ Fireworks” was originally held as a one-day event, but in recent years it has been organized in a dispersed format as a COVID-19 safety measure. In 2022, it was held three times, in 2023 five times, and in 2024 also five times (with the final show on August 30 canceled due to a typhoon). By splitting the event across multiple dates, visitors can still enjoy the fireworks on another day even if one show is canceled.
Since the fireworks are spread out, each display features about 150 shots, which may feel a little modest in scale. However, with all the fireworks launched in just three minutes, it delivers an impressively powerful show!

The WEEKLY Fireworks in Oiso has become a cherished summer tradition in Oiso. Every year, it is held three times in total during July and August around Oiso Port. (In 2025, the scheduled dates are July 26 (Sat), August 8 (Fri), and August 16 (Sat).)
